The Wheat Ridge Planning Commission on Dec. 18 recommended approval of a specific development plan (SDP) for a Bonfire Burritos drive‑through at 4001 Clear Creek Drive in the Clear Creek Crossing planned mixed‑use development.
Planner Elena Olivas Loera said the proposal is for a single‑story, roughly 1,900‑square‑foot restaurant with a wrapped drive‑through lane, 14 angled parking spaces, an outdoor patio, and landscaping that exceeds the code minimum of 20% of the lot. The site is in Planning Area 6 (the Harvest District) and is designed to connect to adjacent private drives and signalized intersections; the Longs Peak Metro District will maintain certain landscaping along Clear Creek Drive and coordination with outside agencies (including Denver Water) is ongoing.
Olivas Loera entered the project file, zoning ordinance and comprehensive plan into the public record and told commissioners that civil construction documents are nearing approval and a subdivision plat for Block 4 (MS‑24‑1) is under review. She recommended conditional approval to allow minor plan adjustments needed to coordinate with master‑developer infrastructure improvements.
There was no public comment. Commissioner Michael Moore moved to approve the SDP; Commissioner Patrick Quinn seconded and the motion carried 6–0. Conditions attached to the recommendation include minor site adjustments to conform civil plans and recording the subdivision plat MS‑24‑1 prior to SDP recording.
