Salem-Keizer board approves three OSBA resolutions, selects representative for LPC

The board then considered OSBA Resolution 2, which would amend bylaws related to the composition of OSBA’s board of directors. Directors debated adding advisory caucuses and representation; the resolution passed with one recorded opposition.
OSBA Resolution 3, a separate bylaws amendment, was brought forward and passed with one opposed.
On the legislative policy committee position for Marion County (position 12), the board considered three candidates. Several directors and student advisers spoke in support of Director Ashley Carson Cottingham, citing her experience on OSBA and prior service. The board voted and selected Ashley Carson Cottingham; the chair announced two opposed votes.
Board staff said the secretary will complete and submit the district’s official ballots and committee appointment forms the following day.
