Arvada approves $93,000 city match and snow/leaf funding for Old Town BID programs

The Arvada City Council voted 5–0 on Dec. 2 to authorize an agreement with the Old Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID) for fiscal year 2025 programs and services.
Jessica Garner, director of community and economic development, told council that the FY2025 arrangement includes a city matching allocation of $93,000, producing a BID operating budget of approximately $258,000; the agreement also includes a separate not-to-exceed $50,000 payment for leaf and snow removal for the 2024–25 winter season. The contract language and the city's service definitions were included in the council packet.
Councilmember Pfeiffer moved approval and thanked the BID for outreach that boosted Small Business Saturday visibility; other councilmembers echoed appreciation. The motion passed unanimously with the mayor pro tem excused.
The agreement, as presented, will allow the city to evaluate the BID's performance before considering allocations for 2026.
