Farmington — The Farmington City Council conducted a public hearing Dec. 16 on 2025 liquor-license renewals and acted on staff recommendations.
City staff reported that applicants for on-sale intoxicating, on-sale Sunday, wine, 3.2 beer and club licenses had submitted required fees and insurance and that the police chief had completed reviews. Staff recommended denying one renewal, identified in the memo as Blair, based on criminal-background checks and provided a resolution to enact the denial.
Following the hearing, the council moved (Katie) and seconded (Steve) to approve the list of renewals for multiple local establishments named in staff materials. The motion passed on roll-call vote. The council then moved (Steve) and seconded (Nick) to adopt Resolution 2024 Tech 115 to deny the renewal for Blair; roll-call votes were recorded in favor and the resolution was adopted.
Staff did not record substantive public objections during the hearing. The denial resolution cites the background-check findings as the staff rationale; the transcript records the staff recommendation and the council’s adoption of the resolution rather than a detailed oral recitation of the specific background items in open session.
