Nueces County Declares Nov. 10, 2015 'Coastal Bend Day of Giving' Ahead of Regionwide Matching Campaign

The proclamation lists named foundations and donors who committed matching funds for the 2015 event and said the online campaign would support 40 nonprofits by doubling contributions up to specified match amounts.
An attendee who identified herself as president of the Blanche Davis Moore Foundation (speaker 7) praised the Coastal Bend Community Foundation staff, specifically Karen Salem, and said of the 2015 event, "we are truly blessed... this is literally gonna go out and raise $2,000,000 in 1 day for... 40 charities." Another court member thanked donors and volunteers who have supported past campaigns. The judge called the motion to adopt the proclamation and the court approved it by voice vote.
The proclamation urges citizens of Nueces County and the Coastal Bend to participate online on Nov. 10 to support local charities and take advantage of donor matches. The court concluded the recognition with a brief photo and a reminder of the upcoming event.
