The Huron City Commission on Dec. 30 approved a letter of intent to sell roughly 2 acres in South Commercial Lot 2C at a price of $2.25 per square foot.

Commission members voted to enter the agreement after development staff described the parcel’s location but said they could not yet release purchaser details. Ted Hader, who identified himself as representing development, said, "Right now, no. What I will do after this meeting is reach out to our prospect and see what I can share with their permission." He described the site as a parcel in the southwest corner of Lot 2C, fronting on 26th Street and encompassing slightly less than a quarter of an approximately 8.5-acre lot east of Iverson Auto's dealership.

The motion to approve the letter of intent was moved and seconded on the floor; a roll call vote recorded unanimous approval. Commissioners did not vote on a final purchase agreement during the meeting; Hader said staff will contact the prospect and share details once permission is given.

The commission’s action authorizes staff to proceed with the letter of intent; it does not finalize a sale or transfer of ownership.
