City finance, court and utilities reports: Montgomery staff say FY24 revenues recorded, citation revenue up, wells in good shape

During the Oct. 21 meeting the Montgomery City Council received routine departmental reports.
Finance director Mary Anne (Speaker 10) told council that all revenue for fiscal year 2024 has been recorded but that some September expenses are still being posted and that pooled-cash adjustments moved closed-account balances into the operating pooled cash account. She noted those ending-expense figures will continue to change through audit.
The municipal court reported 145 citations in September with revenue of $32,090.14 and fiscal-year revenue of $391,222.53; council members observed year-over-year increases and commended the court for improved revenue performance.
Utility operations staff reported pumping 16,000,000 gallons in the last month, that wells and the wastewater treatment plant are in compliance, and provided corrected well-usage percentages (Jasper approximately 18.53%, Caterpillar approximately 43.68%) after earlier reporting errors.
Council accepted the September departmental reports by motion later in the meeting. Staff answered several follow-up questions about remote-work access security for finance systems and about event coverage by police.
