The Haslet Community and Economic Development Corporation voted unanimously to approve the special Type B minutes from Sept. 17, the Sept. 25 minutes and the September 2024 financial statements, while asking staff to clarify an unexplained $166.50 charge listed under legal services.
Unidentified Speaker 2 raised the issue after reviewing an emailed attachment, noting the financials listed a vendor variously transcribed as "McClarity Company" or similar. Board members located the attachment and identified the line under the legal account as "McClachery Company" for $166.50. Unidentified Speaker 3 suggested removing that line-item from the consent portion for the moment until staff could confirm whether the charge was valid or should be removed from the account.
Unidentified Speaker 2 moved to approve the three documents with the exception of the one questioned legal charge; Unidentified Speaker 1 seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously to approve the minutes and the financial statement while directing administrative staff to provide clarification about the vendor and the charge at a subsequent meeting.
What to watch for
Staff follow-up to identify the vendor named in the attachment and to confirm whether the $166.50 charge is legitimate or should be reversed or reclassified. The board recorded that clarification as a future agenda item.
Next step
Administrative staff to investigate the vendor/charge and return with clarification at the next meeting; the financial statement remains approved with that exception.
