The Argyle Municipal Development District on Dec. 2 approved the minutes of its Nov. 4 meeting and received a staff report showing stronger-than-expected sales-tax receipts.
Harrison, MDD staff, told the board that the sales tax for November 2025 was "$51,350.22," about $10,474 higher than November 2024 and roughly a 25.62% year-over-year increase. Harrison said the gain is "in large part attributed to the new restaurants and businesses that we have in town" and noted remote (online) taxpayers grew 18% while locally generated collections rose faster because brick-and-mortar activity is growing from a smaller base.
Harrison said ZacTax's model projects year-end MDD revenue between $600,000 and $667,000; the board's adopted budget for the fiscal year assumed $550,000. The staff presentation also reported the top 10 taxpayers in November combined for $14,424 — approximately 28.5% of that month's collections.
The board considered the consent agenda and a motion to approve the previous meeting's minutes (moved by Board Member S2; seconded by Board Member S3). The chair called for a voice vote; the transcript records an "Aye" and the chair stated the motion passed. The full roll call and individual member votes were not recorded in the transcript.
No separate action was taken on the sales-tax report; it was presented for information and follow-up.
Next steps: staff will continue monthly monitoring of collections and follow up on items raised during the report.
