Public commenter alleges Open Meeting Law violations, says complaint filed with AG

Miss DeFazio addressed the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada during closing public comment and alleged ongoing violations of Nevada’s Open Meeting Law.
Citing NRS 241.035 and NRS 241.020(3)(a), DeFazio said notices were not posted in "at least three prominent places within the state" as required and asserted the Commission had posted notices only in its offices since Nov. 9, 2021 (agenda 23-21). She named Commission staff and officials in her remarks, including "Garrett" (identified by her as general counsel since 2016), "Helly" (she said had been assistant general counsel and is now chair since 2021), "Tammy" (she said has been with the PUC since 2001 and a commissioner since 2020) and "Randy" (she said has been a commissioner since 2017). DeFazio said a complaint has been filed with the Nevada Attorney General and that she is exploring whether to file a bar complaint.
Commission staff in Las Vegas confirmed Miss DeFazio was the lone speaker; the Commission did not take action or respond during the meeting. The allegations were raised publicly on the record and, according to DeFazio, have been submitted to the Attorney General for review. The Commission’s official response, any follow-up and the AG’s determination were not part of the meeting record.
