Board highlights strong turnout for egg hunt and Gateway to the Globe; shares program calendar

At its meeting Speaker 2 reviewed recent and upcoming historical park programming and community outreach. "We had a 123 participants," Speaker 2 said of the recent adult egg hunt and called the event "a wonderful success." Regarding Gateway to the Globe, Speaker 2 said, "I think I heard around 1200 participants came out."
Speaker 2 outlined the spring events calendar: Denton Drive Live will be hosted at the park on April 13, May 11 and June 1 (moved this year because of construction on Denton Drive). A charcuterie and pairing class is scheduled for May 2 in the Datsun House (fee $40) and will be BYOB. Speaker 2 encouraged sign-ups and said some programs are already sold out or nearly full.
The board also described children's summer offerings and exhibits: a summer camp run by Paloma (Arcella) themed as a 1970s disco party and an Alice's Adventures in Wonderland exhibit in the Queen Anne house that will run through the year. Members reported ongoing partnerships with local community groups and described the board's annual "birthday party in a box" donation program to MetroCrest Services, which supplies cake mix, frosting, candles and party supplies to families served by the food bank.
No formal votes were taken on programming at the meeting; staff will continue to post event pictures and wrap-ups online and to coordinate vendor and volunteer needs.
