Council adopts ordinance amending FY2024–25 budget to finance projects and radio costs

The Copperas Cove City Council on Oct. 1 approved Ordinance 2024‑33 amending the city’s fiscal‑year 2024–25 budget to recognize additional revenues and expenditures tied to previously approved projects and recent contractual needs.
Arianna Beckman, director of budget, told council the general fund will record a revenue increase of $551,243 and an expenditure increase of $906,924 primarily to carry forward the senior center project and lighting/decoration work approved in the prior fiscal year. Beckman also identified fund‑level adjustments tied to the new radio system: water and sewer expenditures $5,404; solid waste $4,133; golf course $954; drainage $1,589; and street maintenance $3,745.
Councilmember Vanya Hart moved adoption of Ordinance 2024‑33 and Del Treadway seconded; the motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
The ordinance allows staff to proceed with the senior‑center contract elements and incorporates the additional maintenance costs for the P25 radio system reported earlier in the meeting.
