Council also discussed the future of the parks committee created for the Argyle Nature Trail. Staff advised the committee — created for a specific project — could be reorganized into a seven‑member parks board by ordinance to provide broader, ongoing oversight for parks, trails and the veterans memorial. Council directed staff to prepare an ordinance for council consideration in January.
Councilors asked staff to prepare a community room rental policy (renters, deposits and security) and to propose how court security/technology funds might be used toward municipal building hardening and camera systems.
Staff indicated smaller cosmetic work could proceed under existing procurement thresholds, while larger kitchen work will require council direction and budget approval.
