Committee members agreed on a 24-inch elevation for the sculpture bases to improve visibility.
Because insurance and certificate-of-insurance requirements were complex, staff proposed buying pieces outright and using Parks and Recreation crews for installation rather than executing detailed artist contracts. A staff member said the approach would simplify procurement: artists would deliver sculptures, provide hardware and touch-up paint, and the city would accept an invoice or bill of sale rather than a long contract. Committee members reported that deposits and revised invoices were being arranged; staff planned delivery and storage in March and to schedule concrete pours and installation with city crews once timelines aligned.
Members also discussed layout and orientation (for example, arranging three paired pieces in a triangular layout so each reads from multiple directions) and confirmed follow-up actions: finalize invoices and deposits, open a purchase order when staff returns, and meet with parks crews to schedule a concrete pour and installation window.
