Farmers Branch board approves minutes and elects vice chair by acclamation

The Farmers Branch Parks & Recreation Board approved its February meeting minutes and elected a vice chair by acclamation during its recent meeting.

At the start of the meeting the chair moved to approve the February minutes and members voted in favor. The board then opened nominations for vice chair. After David volunteered and no other nominations were made, the board moved and seconded a motion to elect him by acclamation; members voted in favor and the motion carried.

The chair outlined the vice chair’s duties as standing in for the chair when needed and delivering an annual presentation to the City Council summarizing the board’s work.

The board also discussed procedural matters, including making electronic agenda packets available in advance and offering printed packets for pick-up at City Hall on the Monday before meetings. Members expressed mixed preferences for mailed hard copies versus electronic distribution with in-person pick-up, and staff proposed a trial to prepare printed packets for pickup the Monday before meetings.

The meeting adjourned after routine departmental updates and project briefings.
