Farmers Branch council requests updates on medians, meters and parking; schedules executive session on manager evaluation and development incentives

At the Oct. 22 study session, Councilman Neal asked staff for status updates on several operational items and the mayor read items that will be considered in a closed executive session.
Neal said the council recently approved the city to take over medians for some homeowners-association districts and asked, "Have we actually taken over the medians? Is there any paperwork still needing finalization, any liability paperwork, that sort of thing, start dates." He also asked for an update on a water-meter project in the Oak Brook area and asked whether the council could add a discussion of parking issues in residential areas — specifically boats, RVs, trailers and commercial vehicles that are occupying on-street spaces.
On hazardous-waste events, Neal noted participation is lower and asked whether the city could consider holding one additional hazardous-waste pickup annually ("maybe 2 a year").
For upcoming council procedure, the mayor read Item D1–D6: the council may convene into closed executive session under Texas Government Code §551.074 for the city-manager evaluation; under §551.087 to discuss economic-development incentives for multiple projects (Project 5B MD3, Project Morning Crane, Project Washington); and under §551.072 to discuss the sale of real property located at 1349–1399 Valley View Lane. The council recessed into executive session at the conclusion of the study session.
The requests from Neal are for information and potential agenda items; no formal action on those items was recorded in the study session.
