Perryton ISD students advance: welders, band, cross country and volleyball earn recognition

PERRYTON ' At the start of the board meeting, the superintendent and campus representatives highlighted a string of student accomplishments across career and technical education, music and athletics.
Superintendent Brown recognized the welding team that fabricated the new Hall of Fame board and listed students who qualified for a state build competition: Omar Granados, Leo Gutierrez, Kevin Miramontes, Joel Alvarez, Mason Carranza, Jesus Jimenez, Anthony Magallanes and Liam Drum.
Brown also praised the band for receiving an overall first-division rating in marching and advancing to area competition for the second consecutive year, crediting director Mister Gonzales. Campus speakers reported athletic successes as well: the junior high boys won the district cross-country championship by a wide margin and the girls' teams and volleyball squads recorded strong results in recent matches.
The board applauded the students and encouraged community support for upcoming competitions.
