Spring ISD board unanimously designates Texas Education Human Resources Day, appoints HGAC delegate, approves consent agenda

At its Oct. 8 meeting the Spring ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution designating Oct. 9 as Texas Education Human Resources Day, designated Natasha McDaniel as the district representative (and Winford Adams Jr. as alternate) to the Houston-Galveston Area Council general assembly for 2025, and approved the consent agenda; all motions carried unanimously.
The Spring Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted multiple motions unanimously during its Oct. 8 meeting.
A motion introduced by Trustee Newhouse (seconded by Trustee Hodges) resolved that Oct. 9, 2024, be observed in the district as Texas Education Human Resources Day. President Durant called the vote and the motion "carried unanimously."
Later the board considered appointments to the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) general assembly for 2025. After describing the meeting schedule and time commitments, Dr. Deborah Jensen moved to designate Trustee Natasha McDaniel as the representative and Trustee Winford Adams Jr. as the alternate; the motion was seconded by Trustee Rhonda Newhouse and carried unanimously.
Anne Westbrooks moved to approve items on the consent agenda; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously with no discussion.
The board recessed to a closed meeting under the Texas Open Meetings Act (sections 551.071 and 551.074) and then reconvened later in the evening. A motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Hodges, seconded by Trustee Newhouse, and the meeting adjourned at 9:46 p.m.
