Commissioner Hewitt was recognized for eight years of service during the Clinton County Board of Commissioners’ Dec. 31 cleanup meeting, where colleagues praised his leadership on EMS expansion, infrastructure planning and courthouse renovations.
Unidentified Speaker 2 announced Hewitt’s final meeting and presented a gift. Multiple speakers spoke in tribute, noting Hewitt’s role in expanding EMS facilities, pushing infrastructure out to support growth, steering the county through the COVID-19 response, and supporting renovation and preservation efforts for the courthouse annex. Hewitt responded, saying it was an honor to serve and that he would miss his colleagues.
The recognition occurred amid routine board business to close out the year: the board approved several claims, payroll and meeting minutes and set its next meeting for Jan. 7, 2025, before adjourning.
The transcript records speakers by numeric labels rather than full names for most turns; when names such as Jordan and Josh were referenced, no last names were provided on the record.
