Steve Larson led a review of Clay County's committee assignments Dec. 31 and commissioners proposed several portfolio adjustments, including transportation, general government and watershed roles. Several one-time committees (public safety funds, ARPA) were discussed as candidates for dissolution and commissioners requested a redline/mockup of the revised assignments for formal approval at the next meeting.

Separately, multiple commissioners delivered tributes and thank-yous to retiring Commissioner Frank (Gross) and a remote caller added brief remarks. The meeting concluded with farewell remarks and the chair adjourned the session.

Board staff said they will return an updated assignments packet and a redline version at the next meeting for formal action.
