Chester County commissioners promise review after poll‑book error forced provisional voting

Commissioner Josh Maxwell said the board would investigate after a poll‑book error left independent and third‑party voters off precinct lists the morning of Nov. 4, 2025, forcing affected voters to cast provisional ballots.

"When the poll books were opened at 7 in the morning, it lacked third party and independent voters," Commissioner Josh Maxwell said, describing the lapse as a ‘‘mistake’’ staff and elected officials would need time to analyze. Maxwell said county staff would ensure every provisional ballot in Chester County is counted accurately and thanked Republican and Democratic parties for agreeing to keep polls open an extra two hours to address the problem.
