ISD 622 board approves donations, labor agreement, calendars and policy revisions
Summary
At its Nov. 18 meeting the ISD 622 board accepted donations totaling about $23,000, ratified a nutrition-services contract through 2027 with wage increases, adopted two school calendars (2026–27 and 2027–28), and approved revisions to five district policies.
The ISD 622 school board approved a series of administrative actions on Nov. 18, including acceptance of donations, ratification of a nutrition-services contract, adoption of school calendars and final readings of policy revisions.
Donations: The board accepted monetary and in-kind gifts designated for student programs and schools. The director of finance read a total for 2025–26 monetary contributions as $23,000.85 and 32¢; the list included gift cards, booster-club donations and in-kind donations for early childhood and holiday assistance programs. The board approved acceptance by voice vote.
Nutrition services agreement: The board ratified a tentative agreement with the nutrition-services employee group for July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027. The agreement includes an 8% wage increase effective Dec. 1, 2025, a 4.5% increase in the second year, a reduction of pay steps from seven to four to improve market competitiveness, combined sick and personal leave into a PTO model, and updated benefit contributions. District staff noted nutrition services is funded from a separate enterprise fund and does not come from the general fund.
Calendars: The board adopted two calendars for 2026–27 and 2027–28 after a calendar committee review. The 2026–27 calendar starts before Labor Day (per state allowance for the next two years); the 2027–28 calendar was adopted without a pre-Labor Day start. The committee said calendars align with contract language and professional-development scheduling.
Policy revisions: The board approved final readings of five policy revisions after the required three readings. Revisions included changes to language about paid meal‑charge accommodations, updated student-transportation safety training deadlines, procedures for disposition of obsolete equipment and removal of active-shooter–specific procedural language from the crisis-management policy.
All action items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote as recorded in the meeting minutes.
