Kootenai County approves $747,200 credit on Justice Building expansion contract

Jeff Fuller, the county building and grounds director, described the item as the final change order that "is crediting back the unused contingency and the unused allowances for the project." Fuller said the item brought together the final contract numbers and that the board had been previously briefed on the situation when David Mendez was present.
A commissioner moved to approve change order number 4 with Boughton Construction; the board voted unanimously to accept the credit. County staff characterized the change as a positive closing action that reconciles contract totals and returns funds to the county.
The approved credit completes the county's recorded change orders for the expansion project; Fuller asked for board approval to receive the credits as part of final contract reconciliation.
