Keizer — The Keizer City Council on Dec. 1 voted to authorize the south‑facing wall of Los Dos Hermanos (3590 River Road North) as a designated public art site, clearing the location to move forward under Keizer Public Arts Commission (KPAC) review criteria.
City Manager Shane Witham told council there is no direct city financial impact: KPAC typically funds murals through its annual budget and donations; staff said KPAC’s annual budget is about $6,000. Councilor Christopher said the location is approximately four blocks into the city, has clear sight lines and owner willingness, and that KPAC has a potential artist, Bridgette Miller, who could complete the work pending approvals and scheduling.
Council President Starr moved to approve Los Dos Hermanos as an authorized public art site subject to Keizer’s public art provisions and KPAC review criteria; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously with one absence.
Next steps: KPAC will coordinate with the property owner and a selected artist on concept, timelines and property agreements, and return to council if additional approvals or funding requests are required.
