Pedestrian-flag pilot continues as program lead departs committee

Members agreed to quarterly check-ins and to compile results for city council consideration after the city’s counsel reviews any naming or legal concerns. The pilot is planned to run through December; the committee said it will decide whether to retain or rename the program after counsel feedback and community input.
"I'll continue to support the flags program, but I don't plan on being here for the meetings," the member said, offering to remain available by email. Members asked staff to provide the committee with any counsel guidance and to schedule the next status update in the committee’s calendar.
