A state delegation told the Dixie County Board of County Commissioners it had arranged a $1,250,000, 10-year interest-free loan under a post-hurricane emergency program to help the county with recovery and economic development efforts.
A state representative said the loan program (an emergency loan/grant pool discussed as part of the Water Resources Development Act and related funding tools) was used to make the $1.25 million available. The presentation included a ceremonial check and recognition of county staff and officials credited with facilitating the project.
County officials thanked state staff and county team members for assistance and indicated they would take photos and paperwork after the meeting. The board did not take action beyond accepting the presentation and arranging photo documentation.
