The Union County Board of County Commissioners unanimously accepted a $750,000 award (MK026) on Oct. 6 to support Phase 4 of the county’s Safety Complex, including site development, parking, a deputy substation, evidence and storage facilities, and associated equipment, telecommunications and design fees.
Commissioner Jackson moved to accept the award and Commissioner Crawford seconded; the motion passed without dissent. Commissioners noted the appropriation had been discussed previously and said funds would be applied to the specified project elements.
Quote: “I will accept this money and any other money that they would like to give us,” Commissioner Jackson said during discussion of the award.
