During public comment, Bev Debaros of Scranton (Speaker 6) asked the board to replace a worn television used in the prison chapel, describing the set as 48 inches by 28 inches with colored lines and poor picture quality. "It's like a big barcode across the front," she said, and asked whether the board could provide a new TV and a Blu‑ray player.
Moderator (Speaker 1) said the board could address the request that day. A board member (Speaker 3) moved to authorize the canteen to purchase a new TV for the chapel; the motion was seconded and the board voted by voice. Multiple board members answered "Aye" and the motion carried. Moderator (Speaker 1) said staff would address the logistics.
The purchase will be funded from the canteen account; the County had previously reported canteen balances and disbursements during the Controller's presentation. The board did not set a dollar amount for the purchase during the meeting.
