Council hears agency reports: tax revenue up, gaming audits show no findings

Sharon Swepston of the tax commission told the council that through September, motor vehicle revenue was about 10.5% higher year-to-date compared with the same period last year, while revenue-and-taxation categories that include alcohol and cigarette taxes were down about 2%. Swepston offered to answer questions, but none were recorded in the transcript.
Audra Imhoff of the Gaming Commission reported that the National Indian Gaming Commission conducted site visits at the Tahlequah and Fort Gibson casinos on Oct. 1 and ‘‘did not have any findings for our licensing department and our audit department.’’ Imhoff also noted the next Gaming Commission meeting would be at the Hard Rock and invited council members to attend.
Marshall Mead of the marshal service presented a packet and indicated he was available to answer questions; no council questions were recorded. Human Resources director Samantha Hendricks said she had no substantive updates from her prior report.
