Dr. Stone and Mr. Ensign updated the board on Troy Gilbert Elementary construction on Nov. 18, showing a series of photos documenting progress. They said schematic design and the May groundbreaking are complete, construction began in June, and the masonry "top out" milestone occurred Oct. 31. The team expects the building envelope to be dry-in around January depending on weather; substantial completion is scheduled for summer 2026 with district furniture, fixtures and equipment installation mid-July and an August opening.
The contractor, Core Construction, provides weekly drone imagery and 360-degree room scans to document progress and support future inspections. Presenters walked the board through aerial and interior photos, noted Building 300 as furthest along, and explained sequencing (classrooms first, then administration, gym and cafeteria). Board members thanked the team and requested a site tour; the administration invited the board to weekly Thursday walkthroughs with hard hat and closed-toe shoe requirements.
The board recorded no changes to the project's schedule at the meeting and expressed support for continuing the weekly monitoring process.
