School calendar: On old business the board held a second reading and approved a motion to set the first day of school for the 2026–27 year as Wednesday, Aug. 19. The motion to set Aug. 19 as the first day was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Appointments and adjournment: For new business, the board appointed its legislative action network representative to act as a liaison with ASBSD and the legislative delegation; the chair was appointed and said they will keep the board informed. The board then moved to adjourn and closed the meeting.
