DCG board accepts election results, advances bond-sale steps and routine business; awards trash contract

Voters approved public measure DG, an $88,000,000 general obligation bond, with 2,163 votes in favor and 748 opposed (74.9%).
Bond and financing actions: The board approved three coordinated items to prepare for a December bond sale of approximately $15,000,000 (one issuance slice of the $88,000,000 authorization): an addendum to engage Piper Jaffray as dissemination agent for secondary-market disclosure to EMA, a motion to engage Allers & Cooney as bond and disclosure counsel (Elizabeth Grove as bond counsel and Kristen Cooper as disclosure counsel), and a resolution directing advertisement for sale, electronic bidding procedures and an official statement. Administration reported Moody’s upheld a "double A 2" rating following the district’s interview.
Procurement and grants: The board accepted bids for trash and recycling and voted to award a contract to Waste Management at a lower price point (administration said roughly $40,000 less than previous costs). Miss Wearmouth also reported the district won a USDA Farm-to-School state grant of $14,000 (of a requested $15,000) to support nutrition education and hydroponic gardens serving roughly 150 students.
Human resources and curriculum: Trustees approved multiple retirements and a resignation effective April 3, 2026, recognizing combined decades of service. The board approved a Sculpture 2 high-school course addition (subject to scheduling and sufficient enrollment) and approved four early graduates.
Other motions: The board approved bills and financial statements, adopted committee assignments, approved the consent agenda and the first reading of listed policies (no new policies), denied one open-enrollment application (student K H), and moved the December meeting from Dec. 15 to Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
