Neil reported the Department of Education’s adequacy estimate released Nov. 15 reduced the district’s adequacy by $268,244 when towns are combined, though he said he identified roughly $100,000 of additional revenue in recent reviews. He described preschool and interest income running ahead and noted Medicaid billing is performing strongly. Neil also highlighted pupil services are over budget due to more students in‑district and contracted positions filling vacancies.
To address those imbalances, the board approved a set of budget transfers that move money from special‑education tuition and special‑education transportation and reallocated some benefit and salary lines; trustees approved the transfers by voice vote.
The board also unanimously accepted a gift to South Meadow School submitted through Renew Church in Hancock (documentation showed Judy Fisler and Tim Conway as signees), and thanked the donors.
At the end of the open session a trustee moved and a fellow trustee seconded entry to a short non‑public session under RSA 91‑A:3 II(a); the board prepared to proceed.
Next steps: staff will implement approved transfers and continue budget monitoring in advance of the public hearing in January.
