The board approved the administration’s recommendation to expel the student for up to one calendar year, while granting the superintendent discretion to modify the consequence.
The board also authorized the district solicitor and administration to prepare a written adjudication that will be signed by appropriate district representatives and will include an explanation of appeal rights and continuing‑education options for the student.
The motions were seconded and carried unanimously, 9–0. The board noted there was no need for an executive session on the discipline matter at the conclusion of the vote.
Because the board’s action is recorded under a student file number, the district did not release the student’s name in the meeting record. The approved adjudication will include formal notice of appeal rights and information about continuing education while expelled.
