Board accepts violation finding and approves expulsion of Cedar Crest student under Policy 227
Summary

Following an executive session for student-discipline and legal matters, the Cornwall-Lebanon School District board returned to public session and approved several motions concerning a Cedar Crest High School student.
The board voted to find that Cedar Crest High School student 252604 violated the district’s controlled-substance Policy No. 227. The board then accepted the administration’s recommendation to expel the student for up to one calendar year, while allowing the superintendent discretion to modify the consequence.
The board also authorized the solicitor to prepare a written adjudication regarding the finding, to provide the adjudication and an explanation of appeal rights and continuing-education options to the appropriate parties as promptly as possible. Each motion was seconded and approved by a unanimous vote of 8 to 0.
A separate agreement between the district and the parents of a student identified as SE252061 was also approved.
The board did not release additional identifying information about the students in public session. The superintendent and solicitor will provide written adjudication and notification of appeal rights, consistent with district policy and state education procedures.
