Greenspace Assistant Director described a proposed 25‑foot multilayer native buffer between the fenced dog park and adjacent residences and noted that private donations are intended to fund construction.
Resident Mary Powell presented a petition signed by more than 225 residents in favor of a centrally located off‑leash space and urged the commission to approve the site to improve safety and community connections. The commission approved the resolution by roll call.
The motion instructs staff to proceed with schematic design, fundraising outreach and coordination with community donors; staff will return with cost estimates and a proposed maintenance plan.
