Raleigh County EMS reports corrected call volume, credentialing progress and staffing updates

David Adams, Raleigh County EMS director, gave the department’s monthly update on Nov. 17 and corrected the October call total (the state reporting system error had erroneously shown 519; the correct number is 472). Adams reviewed call breakdowns across medic units and station areas and said EMS has been shifting resources to cover assisted-living and nursing-home calls.
Adams said onboarding for new staff is complete, supervisors are conducting condensed employee evaluations and that captains and other leaders are participating in a high-performance managers program. He reported progress on biannual credentialing and that almost all written tests are complete; skill check-offs and instructor sign-offs continue.
The department continues community outreach events and has provided 16 event standbys since the last report. Adams said advanced medical life support classes were held Nov. 21–22 and drew participants from other agencies.
