Mister Fabrizio (facilities) said initial quotes for varsity softball fencing are about $24,000 and that the district will fund the project from capital reserve and the general fund. He also said district grounds staff will build a warning track in-house and is coordinating dimensions with the softball coach and grounds supervisor.
On the security-camera project, Fabrizio said installers discovered additional analog devices that were not counted in the initial server licensing plan; he asked the committee to approve approximately $12,000 from capital reserve and the general fund to bring licensing into compliance.
Fabrizio noted two summer projects staged for Skipback and Schwenksville and said HVAC closeout work at the high school and middle school east is nearing completion and should wrap in about a month. He also said the district approved Middle School East bathroom partitions and a vendor will take final measurements when school is not in session for summer installation.
On the high school clock and paging system, Fabrizio presented an initial vendor quote near $180,000 for networked 22-inch digital displays that could integrate bells, paging and emergency messages (including tie-ins with the Raptor system). Committee members raised questions about cabling, power and backups because the high school has roughly 180 clocks to replace; Fabrizio said site surveys and vendor recommendations are ongoing.
Next steps: staff will continue to collect quotes for paving and other capital work, seek formal approvals where required and return with more detailed budgets and timelines for the committee and the full board.
