The Pennridge School Board on Monday swore in newly elected directors and elected officers at its annual organization meeting.

Board members administered the standard oath of office to new directors, including Nathaniel (last name appears in the record with variant spellings) and members identified as Brian McMullen, Carly Taylor and Thomas (surname appears as Strauber/Trucker in the record). Each recited the pledge to "support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of this Commonwealth" and to "discharge the duties of my office with fidelity."

Carol Cherino was nominated and elected president by acclamation after no other nominations were offered. "It has truly been an honor to have served on the board," Cherino said after being declared president, and she outlined priorities including strengthening the district's financial position, improving communication with the community and expanding student opportunities. "We will continue to communicate openly, explain the reasoning behind our choices, and listen carefully to your feedback," she said.

Leah Foster Rash was nominated for vice president and, with no competing nominations, was elected by acclamation and unanimous vote.

The board also appointed representatives to the Upper Bucks County Joint Operating Committee. Nathaniel Lefebvre (name spelling varies in the record) was nominated for the three-year representative position and elected by acclamation; Brian McMullen was named the alternate for a one-year term.

The board read its public-comment policy and announced no members of the public signed up to speak. The meeting closed with routine announcements and an adjournment. The board noted its next regular meeting is scheduled in January.
