The board opened its regular meeting with student recognitions and public comment.

Miller Jordan Middle School students Aiden Trevino (7th grade) and Keani Mesa (8th grade) led the pledge and invocation and were recognized along with their families. The board and administration recognized the San Benito High School boys varsity cross-country team (district second, regional qualifiers) and a large list of students who earned spots in the TMEA Region 28 all-region orchestra; coaches and parents were asked to stand and were thanked by the board and administration.

During public comment, Mary Mainy, a math teacher at San Benito High School, praised district programs and staff and expressed appreciation for the district's stipend policy, noting a prior request for a $500 stipend and saying the matter will continue to be discussed for next year. The chair and board acknowledged the comments and extended holiday wishes to staff.
