Bossier Parish to begin dependent eligibility audit in January, CFO says

Bossier Parish staff reported Dec. 4 that the parish will begin a dependent eligibility audit of the health and dental plans in January 2026, conducted by BMI Audit Services.
Miss Nisha Bamberg, chief financial officer, said the parish last ran a dependent audit about four years ago and has now contracted BMI Audit Services, the same vendor used previously. She said the vendor has expanded its electronic submission platform, so employees can upload dependent documentation digitally, and staff already have scheduled a kickoff call. Bamberg also said the contract includes a guarantee that the parish will receive a refund if projected savings from removing ineligible dependents do not at least equal the contract cost.
When asked about timing, Bamberg said the audit program runs about 13 weeks from kickoff, with the possibility of a short extension to allow final participants time to submit documents. The item was discussion only; the committee received the update and no formal action was recorded.
