Public-health staff and long-term-care administrators updated the committee on flu clinics, vaccine availability and facility operations.

Brandy from public health said the department used 190 non-billable doses supplied by the state for school flu clinics and is awaiting updated COVID vaccine orders for 2025–26; she said the department does not bill for those shots and directs insured residents to pharmacies or hospitals for billed vaccines, but will provide doses through VFA/VFC programs for uninsured and underinsured patients.

At Pine Valley Community Village, administrator Britney reported a successful biannual review with no major deficiencies noted and said a planned change in food procurement (moving to a vendor formerly called Reinhardt) is expected to save about $20,000 annually on top-100 items. Pine Valley will roll out the International Dysphagia Diet on Jan. 1, post a CNA position, and run a Giving Tree for resident wishes. Britney said a CBRF had a COVID outbreak limited to one staff member and that infection-control measures and isolation steps were implemented.

Finance staff reported departmental spending at ~73% of budget year-to-date, adult-placement funds at ~63% utilization, and a roughly 11% increase in health-insurance costs. Officials said no extraordinary expenditures were identified and that budgets remain on track going into year-end.
