Director reviews 2025 activity: digital checkouts rise, Friends fund most programming

Key statistics presented included a 10.7% increase in OverDrive (Libby) digital checkouts and a modest decline in physical circulation. Meeting-room usage was down about 17% from the prior year; staff traced part of that drop to the loss of a couple of regularly scheduled weekly users. The director also noted that Hoopla and Canopy digital services changed during the year, with Hoopla cut and Canopy providing limited streaming options.
Staff highlighted program growth: more than 245 active children's programs in the year, summer-reading participation up about 10.3% for children, and a new seed library that distributed 653 seed packets to 171 individuals. The director credited the Friends of the Library with supporting most programming: "Our friends of the library, because of budget changes over the past couple years, our friends now fund over 93% of our programs," staff said.
The director said staff would continue to pursue grants and partnerships, and flagged several ongoing facility and technology projects for future board review.
