The Terrebonne Parish Regional Planning Commission voted to approve a zoning site-plan for a 78-space parking lot proposed for a restaurant at 5671 Highway 311.
Administration told the commission the applicant "is requesting review and approval of the construction of a 78 space parking lot associated with a proposed restaurant located at 5671 Highway 311," and noted that parish zoning Section 28.1.36 requires parking-plan approval for any lot with 50 or more spaces. Staff said the zoning ordinance requires a minimum of 75 spaces and the applicant proposes 78, that DOTD has approved the driveway, and that the layout provides adequate vehicle, pedestrian and emergency access. "Staff recommends approval," administration said.
Commissioner Billotte moved to approve the recommendation; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The chairman announced, "Motion passes." The approval completes zoning site-plan review; the applicant still must obtain the building permit they have already applied for.
The commission record shows adjacent property owners were notified and staff received no calls of objection during its review. The motion and outcome were recorded in the meeting minutes.
