He described maintenance‑of‑effort requirements for special education funding and said while some individual schools may not meet maintenance‑of‑effort thresholds, the combined district level remains in compliance for now; final numbers could change as additional data arrive.
On transportation, the administration reported five entities responded to an RFQ for bus services and said administrators expect to select a contract by January. The tower view lease is under review with legal counsel and a remodel and security upgrades are planned for that site.
The superintendent also announced that the student nutrition services director resigned, with a last day on Dec. 12; the district has begun a replacement process. He highlighted voluntary pre‑K (VPK) seats (10 approved, application for five additional seats submitted) and noted participation rates at Kabul were about 80% for parent‑teacher conferences.
The board did not take an immediate action on these operational items but logged them for administration follow‑up during budget and negotiation cycles.
