Planning staff flagged that the project totals about 2,100 square feet—roughly 600 square feet over the expedited‑review threshold. Planning Board staff recommended the board waive the 1,500‑sq. ft. limit to allow expedited processing. Speaker 10 moved to waive the limit and Speaker 4 seconded; the board voted in favor. The board then voted to approve the site‑plan application under expedited review, with a motion to approve moved by Speaker 3 and seconded by Speaker 9.
Board members asked technical questions about capacity and safety: Murphy said each unit would accommodate about 10 shooters plus two instructors and confirmed propane tanks shown on the plans would be moved and buried subsurface where required; he said the fire department would inspect those lines as part of the building permit process.
