Terrebonne Parish Council adopts multiple budget amendments and ordinances

The Terrebonne Parish Council on Nov. 19 approved a series of budget amendments and ordinance actions across departments in a consolidated consent sequence.

Key adopted items included an amendment adding $139,409 for juvenile detention, approval of a $175,000 appropriation for Bayou Country Sports Park, and a $31,275 sewer-fund adjustment; those motions were moved and adopted by recorded vote as read by the chair.

Several larger line items and multi-fund adjustments were introduced and adopted as part of the clerk’s readout of the proposed 2025 budget and 5‑year capital outlay, including an item labeled L C L E for $24,303,100 as presented; the clerk read the motions and the chair called the recorded votes. Where the transcript recorded a vote tally it is noted; most roll-call motions in the consent sequence passed unanimously as read.

The council also set multiple items for public hearings on Dec. 10, 2025, including property acquisitions and budget allocations for the animal shelter, downtown development and dedicated emergency funds. Committee reports from Public Service and Budget & Finance were accepted and those items were placed on the December hearing calendar.
