Riley County planning staff told commissioners Dec. 1 that the county has been awarded a Make My Move (Hometown & Heartland) grant aimed at relocating 20 households from outside Kansas into Riley County.
"Our contract says we're going to move 20 households into the county," said Amanda Webb, Planning Director, noting applicants must relocate from outside Kansas and either bring a remote job or obtain employment with an annual salary of at least $55,000. "The first 50% of our grant funding from the state has been received," Webb added; the second half will be released after the county reaches half of the household goal.
