Summary
The Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended approval of Blueberry Gaming’s Beacon cabinet, citing successful field trials in Louisiana and a plan for a multi-hundred-unit rollout in Nevada.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board on Dec. 4 recommended approval of Blueberry Gaming’s Beacon cabinet (slot machine platform) after hearing the manufacturer's presentation and staff reports. The device has been in the field since March 2024; Blueberry said more than 4,000 units have been deployed nationally and that the company completed a 90-day field trial in Louisiana that the Nevada Gaming Lab assessed and recommended relying upon for Nevada approval.
Blueberry's representative described incremental engineering improvements and strong reliability, including enhanced electrostatic-discharge testing and high uptime reported by customers. The company plans to submit two titles initially (Devil'sLock and Shark'sLock) and aims to place several hundred units across Southern and Northern Nevada during the January–March rollout window if approved.
On staffing and compliance, Blueberry reported active recruitment for a compliance officer and expected onboarding in early 2026 to oversee Nevada operations. After discussion, a board member moved to recommend approval of the new gaming device package; the board recorded aye votes and recommended approval to the Commission.
