Catherine Rose, chair of the Norwood Community Preservation Committee, opened the Nov. 19 meeting by asking members to consider the draft meeting calendar and whether to add an extra public hearing to process 12 Community Preservation Act applications.
Kristen, the committee’s administrative staff member, said she had proposed two January public-hearing dates but recommended adding a third because of the volume of applications. She proposed a first hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 17, and discussed two January dates for follow-up hearings. Committee members agreed to try Dec. 17 as a first option and to circulate the complete calendar by email so members can confirm availability.
The committee asked Kristen to advertise the hearings if Dec. 17 is confirmed and to coordinate which applications will be placed on which hearing agenda. Those with straightforward, town-manager-style applications are likely to be advanced toward the December hearing, while clustered and higher-cost projects will receive additional review before public presentation.
The committee set its next meeting for Dec. 3 to continue pre-hearing planning and encouraged members who have scheduling conflicts to notify staff promptly.
